I am afraid when you chose the duodenal switch operation there was no turning back. The stomach is usually removed not put aside. I had the RNY and am having issues myself but had a friend who had the duodenal switch. Its the most evasive and as you know the resulting side effect of malnutrition. You really have to be diligent on getting your nutrition and vitamins on a daily basis . I wish I had better news. That is why most surgeons refuse to do the procedure.
