You can order Calcium chews through Bariatric Advantage. They're very good and what we need. Created for bariatric patients.

I tried crushing the Kirkland tablets and they were too grainy to swallow mixed with water. When I cut them into four pieces I could swallow them, and it wasn't long before I could swallow them whole because they dissolve very quickly. Viactiv does not have Calcium Citrate and is not a good substitute, I am told. I tried a liquid version but couldn't stand the taste. The Bariatric Advantage Calcium chews are good, and the chewable "lozenges" sold by BA had a chalky texture that I didn't care for. It was okay to just suck on it until it dissolved. I even crushed it to a powder and mixed it with a bit of Greek yogurt, which worked VERY well but was a hassle.

How far out from surgery are you? Do you still need to have chewable citrate? I would check with your surgeon or your nut first.... always. But, Bariatric Advantage has great products. They are a little exspensive but worth it. Good luck to you and happy weight loss.

I buy the chewable ones and I find them to be delish, it is like a treat for me. I just found a new one at Walmart, yummy, the name is Citracal calcium gummies. The other one I buy is Bariatric Advantage, they are called chewy bites. However, I do not know how far out you are, you may not be able to eat any of these yet. Ask your Dr.

When I was early out I crushed my Citrical tablets with a pill crusher until I could comfortably swallow them whole. Another suggestion someone gave that worked well for me was to dissolve them in my crystal lite drink. I always have a large cup at hand and the acidity of the drink mix makes short work of those tablets. Since we're sipping all day long you're taking it in throughout the day. The residue you see in the bottom of your cup will be the stuff that doesn't break down. I think it's part of the coating agent on the tablets but not the actual calcium or vitamin D part.

If you just want to use what you have or they are more affordable you can always mix it in yogurt or a little surgar free pudding. Kroger has a carb control yogurt we can have that actually tastes pretty good, plus you get extra protein and calcium with the yogurt!

I had an awful time finding a calcium supplement I like. Be careful because things like Viactiv and the gummies are usually not the Calcium Citrate that you need. I finally tried Chewy Bites from Bariatric Advantage and they are by far the best choice. Raspberry, Lemon, Chocolate and Caramel. Like eating a Starburst :) Good luck!!

Try Calcet creamy bites which come in lemon and chocolate. They are delicious but expensive. It is a nice treat to switch things up a bit. Also Bariatric advantage chews are great. I carry them in my purse and pop a few throughout the day. It's like taking a candy break rather than taking vitamins. Good Luck on your Quest. M.

Franklin Square Hospital pharmacy carry Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate chews for $9.95. They also carry Unjury and other bariatric supplements and proteins. The staff at the pharmacy are very nice and they are very generous with samples. On my last visit, they gave me a sample of all Unjury flavors of protein.
