Question:
If insurance is approved in 2002 but not avail 2003,will they honor ?

I am wondering if anyone has experience in the Insurance World...I have heard rumors that my insurance might not cover WLS surgery in 2003. Since my surgeon has a 6 months wait - it could be around that time. It is just driving me nuts to think if I get approved in 2002, will they pay if the actual surgery is in 2003 ? If you receive an approval for the surgery and the insurance company knows your surgery date. Which they would have to. You should be fine. But that is a very good question to ask of the people that approved your surgery.

Karen, call your insurance company to make sure. You don't want to find out after the fact. There's one thing I have learned about insurance companies, GET IT IN WRITING. I would assume that if they have the date, there would be no problem, but make sure you hear that from them. Good luck!
