Question:
DO ANYONE HAVE ATENA POSII/BEENAPPROVED

I have Aetna HMO and was just approved last week after 2 months of
completing all the requirements. I am a record keeper and had a record and
receipts for all my weight loss attempts (Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers -5
times, Quick Weight Loss Centers, Dr. Richardson and all his pills, etc.)
over the last 10 years. My Surgery coordinator didn't think Aetna would
approve me because they are so strict. For me, if I don't get the weight
off, I won't be around much longer and I think my PCP's letter
recommending the surgery was a significant factor. I know my experience is
not POSII, but it is Aetna.

I have the same insurance and I will be honest, it depends on the Doctor
and their staff. I was not approved by the same Dr that approved my
husband. It took us 23 months and they gave him a surgery date of 1/2008.
My friend who went with another Dr only took 3 months from beginning to end
and she has the same insurance.

I have Aetna POSII also and I was approved after a year of being denied.
and the thing about it is I didn't submit anything different from the first
time. but I don't have a date yet as my surgeon is out on medical leave
until Sept.

After meeting thier requirements, I was approved after 2 weeks. Mine is
Aetna Choice POS II

We had Aenta Choice and let me tell you.. I went through a big run around
with them. I did EVERYTHING needed. I've been sick for the past 4 years and
had documentation from the past four years. However, when they submitted
the paperwork Aetna came back telling us they required FIVE years worth of
documentation!!!!!!! We switched insurance because my doctors told us that
BC/BS almost ALWAYS approve you. I really wish you the best of luck and
hope you have success like some of the other people in the posts above!

Yes I was and for a second procedure to boot. I was a lapband failure
according to my doctor and had it removed and had the RNY at the same time,
so two procedures within 14 months. I found that the more of a nuisance i
made of myself to the insurance company the faster i was approved and had
my surgery date within a few weeks of approval. Keep calling them,
sometimes it works, they just want to get rid of you, I know this worked

I have aetna ppo choice II and i was approved. All i needed was to have a
6 month weight tracking of a pcp, phycologist clearance, nutrionist
clearance, sleep apnea. etc. etc. once i did all of that, i was approved
within 2 weeks. I am about 5 days post opp. Please let me know if u need
anything else
