Question:
Does anyone know the requirementsclearance needed to be approved for RNY with bcbsga?

So many variables with insurance plans it's probably best you call your insurance company and ask directly. But for an idea, I have BCBS of Illinois, a PPO plan. I am currently preparing for RNY surgery and my plan requirements were 6-month doctor supervised diet (only if you haven't done one or can't provide documentation of one), a psych evaluation, and a nutritionist consultation. My surgeon had all of the requirements that bc/bsga required and I just did them: bloodwork, psych eval, heart, clearance from family doc, diet history... I think that was all. But when I had a question, bc/bsga were very easy too talk too. I even talked to someone who had had the surgery herself!
