I Have United Health Care Insurance How Would I Know If It Could Pay For This Surger

If your Insurance has a number for Member services, You can call that
number an ask how much of the surgery the insurance covers. Good Luck:-)

United Healthcare covered my surgery way back in 2000...before it was as
mainstream as it is today. I think I only had minimal hoop-jumping to do
for them. Primary Doc reccommendation, psych evaluation and some
documentation of prior weight loss attempts. Nothing too major. It was a
lot easier than many companies. Call them and ask... Good Luck!!

I have UHC and it is covered 100%. I go in on Tuesday. It depends upon your
plan. Do what people are telling you and call them.c

I have UHC PPO and I had RNY on June 18th. Call the # on the back of your
card and ask them. It also should be in your coverage book that you got
from your work.

I have United Health Care and it paid 100% because I meet my dedutiable for
the RNY. I had my surgery Jan 3, 2007. Im in the process of waiting for
approval for the plastic surgery. Good luck :)

I have UHC and they paid all by $2500.00 of it. I had lapband in June. I
have HBP and high cholesterol so those co- morbidities helped me get
approved. Dr. also wrote them a letter. No problems at all.

Look in the benefits handbook under exclusions. If It does not say anything
about weight loss surgery being excluded then more than likely it will be
paid for. I just got approved and is scheduled to have surgery on Sept
17th.

I also have United Health for my gastric bypass surgery. They approved me
with no problems-I did have HBP, Liver problems and knees problems. All
they asked was for a Dr. letter, pych report and my BMI and they approved
it within 3 weeks. It took longer for my GB place to schedule the surgery.
I finally had my surgery on Jan.13,2007 and as of today I have lost 85 lbs.
UH is a good place to use for insurance for GB because it took me three

I have United Health, and they paid for the whole operation. I has the Lap
gastic bypass done. Have the doctors office call for you, my doctors office
did that for me. Also you might need a letter from your Prim doctor giving
your record and his or her approvel. I also needed that. Good luck, I has
my operation on Oct 14, 2005.
