I have Univera, no Medicaid; and was approved in a little over two weeks by Univera. I had my surgery on October 9, 2007, I was 246 lbs, borderline diabetes, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and had been taking anti-anxiety/anti-depressant meds. Currently I am 172 pounds, sugar counts all normal, and taking no meds. Prior to being approved, I had to do the psych evaluation and all went very well. I went to Suburban Psychiatric as they could schedule the appointment the soonest, and had my surgery done by Dr. Joseph Caruana of Synergy Bariatrics. Deanne at Dr.Caruana's office handled the entire approval process with Univera on my behalf. It has been the best decision of my life thus far!
