Question:
I live in Los Angeles CA and I was wondering if anyone knew of a Doctor
I am considering WLS and I was looking for a doctor in my area. Los Angeles CA. Has anyone had a good experience with a particular doctor in this area that they recomend? — moiza (posted on August 18, 2003)

I went to Coastal Center for Obesity and had Dr. Oliak who I really liked,
they have a support group on Monday nights, here in Orange, CA Their web

I had mine done at Daniel Freeman Hospital in Ingelwood, his name is Dr
Korman and if you read the message boards he has also done Johnny Youngs
WLS and a few others that I know of. Check out my profile if you need to

I had my surgery done at St. Vincent's Hospital in Los Angeles. Dr.
Kuvhenguhwa did my surgery. He's the best surgeon. He had never lost a
patient!!!

USC has an excellent bariatric surgery program. They only do the DS. If you
have not heard of DS, you can learn all about it at
http://duodenalswitch.com/ Feel free to post questions on the discussion
list and join the chat group any Thursday or Sunday at 6pm PT. I encourage
you to look into DS; it has many advantages over other WLS's. USC's site is
http://www.surgery.usc.edu/foregut/bariatric/. There are also several other
DS surgeons in CA and all are excellent.

Have you checked the "find a doc" link at the top of the page?
Click on it and then click #2, click on your state, and you will get a list
of all of the surgeons. (since you llive in a big state, I'll bet there's a
lot of them!!) Each doctor is listed by city, type of surgery, etc.. You
will also find insurance info for each doc and members' comments along with
links to their profiles and e-mail addys. Very helpful page! This is where

Hi! I just had WLS on 7/24, down 24lbs already!!!! Doing great....I had it
done in Culver City, Brotman Medical with Dr. Sheilah Clayton. She was
wonderful, and she books thru Spectrim, you can find it online if you'd
like to see more....I had a great experience, everyone was wonderful!!!!
