Question:
Where do you work that insurance covered your surgery? From MICHIGAN...

I am in the process of fighting an employer exclusion in order to have WLS. The hospital I worked for covered the surgery until a MEMO was issued on 3/27 stating they would no longer cover it. I am wondering where those of you who live in Michigan or Northern Indiana (South Bend area) work in order to have insurance that covers the surgery. I am willing to switch jobs in order to find insurance to cover this. Any information is appreciated! Thanks!    — D R. (posted on April 24, 2002)

Hi again DeEtte: Sounds like you aren't getting very far with your company. Did you get a chance to see what Walter Lindstrom had to say about your case? I know that the insurance that the hospitals up here in Mt. Pleasant and Alma cover WLS, but that may be a little far for you to relocate. What type of work do you do? Dell Hunt

I work at a hospital in Kalamazoo MI., and mine was approved the same day thy received the request. Sorry your having so much trouble.
