Question:
MDCPS exclusion obstacle

I am currently with UHC POS w benifits. However upon reading the exclusions, treatment for severely obese and comorbid obesity is not covered. Has anyone had any luck with this obstacle? How long? Whats the outcome?    — Taneisha R. (posted on January 2, 2003)

Read your policy closer. Most policies say that, but under a different area, it will frequently cover surgery for obesity if certain criteria are met (medically necessary, co- morbidities, medically supervised diets, etc) REad your entire policy very closely.
