Question:
Cigna PPO????

I have just sent my information to Cigna PPO on 02-03-04. I sent my info. certified mail like the surgeon told me told. I guess my question is HOW LONG DO I WAIT BEFORE CALLING? I had my consult on 01-12-04, seen my NEW pcp (just got a pcp) on 01-26-04. My pcp wrote me a letter of recommendation with hx. and physical. I have a bmi of 40, only co-morbities stress incont., reflux, joint/knee/back pain, shortness of breath with activity. I also sent my information from gyn goes back 9 years with all wt. flucations. I have been on adipex for approx. 3 yrs. that is also documentated and the failures with extensive wt. loss hx. Can anyone please tell me MY CHANCES??? My husband and I were covered by CIGNA PPO for our lap RNY surgeries, and we received a confirmation about three weeks after they had received the letter of medical necessity from our surgeon. The insurance manager in the surgeon's office had suggested to us that if we had not heard from CIGNA in three weeks to start calling them everyday asking about the status of our case. However, we never had to resort to that, and our CIGNA PPO coverage was great from beginning to end. Our case manager reminded us that CIGNA PPO policies can vary from employer to employer, and from state to state. We were in NC....I wish you the same great luck in Indiana :-)
