Question:
United Healthcare of IL denied LAP as

My plan booklet shows no limitations to lap, but UHC claims it is not a covered benefit because Lap is "experimental". I provided them with liturature from the National Library of Medicine dating as far back as 1993. I filed a complaint with my congressman and the Dept of Ins. I now wait for the FINAL say on 2-22-01. I know Dr. Alverdy has others in the same boat, but he can't give me names. Are any of you willing to discuss this issue? UHC has only recently started this type of denial.
