Question:
If anyone can please help!!!! I've just been denied by BCBS need help with appeal!!!!

BCBS of Florida blue choice plan says my BMI has to have been 40 or higher for 2 years or longer and I need a medically supervised weight plan for a year. I am 5'4" and a half and have weighed at least 233 since 10-31-01. I have went to the doctor regularly since 97 and ever since I got off of Phen Phen have gained weight regularly. If anyone has any suggestions in what to put in my appeal letter please let me know.    — Linda J. (posted on September 11, 2002)

Do you have any co-morbidities? I was right on the borderline but I have joint problems, GERD and plantar fasciitis. Any other health problems you have which would be helped by weight loss should be included in your appeal. Don't make things up because they will check your medical records. Good luck!

How is your blood pressure? One thing that helped me get my approval very very quickly was the fact that my podiatrist diagnost me with cronic heel spurs. He said I would end up in a wheel chair if the weight did not come off. I turned his letter in with the paperwork and had my approval within 2 days.

read my profile and see the problems I am having with bcbs--I hired walter and they called this week---bcbs that I can not appeal because I haven't sent any bills in---duh--its all a game with them--you have to be precertified to have the surgery---anyway walter is now talking to the insurance commission in the state of florida--
