Question:
Has anyone change insurance after getting started on the approval process

I have already went to the surgeon and did all the pre-testing, but I cannot get letter of necessity. First MD said he would recommend because medicaid would not pay and I would end up in debt, second my GYN said he would recommend if I had a surgery that he wants but i refused, third MD refused said he doesn't know me, and finally today another MD said that it too hard to get medicaid approval so try this Meredia. is there anyone who could not get letter of recommendation and change to insurance that does not require a letter from MD. and does not have the pre existing condition clause. PLEASE HELP I'M DESPERATE!!!!    — deniece M. (posted on January 3, 2003)

you could tell your gyn that you are want the surgery he recommends just to get the letter of med necc....doesn't mean you can't change the type of surgery later without his/her knowledge. The letter will give you ammunition for WLS in general...not specifics.

Ruth i wish it was that simple but he said he would write the letter after surgery when I can for my incision check. i hate to say this but the surgery is not necessary I think it's for the money. i've asked several Dr's and surgery for polycystic ovaries should be a last resort not first.
