How long for approval?

Hi, Alls I know is that medicare doesn't pre-approve any type of surgery before you have it done, so htat is up to your surgeon. He should decide after you have had all of the necessary pre-op testing done, when it is okay to go ahead with the surgery and set a date for you. I heard from many that have medicare that it just depends on your surgeon and how far backed up he is with surgeries, so ask him-k. But, medicare does pay for this surgery adn will pick up the costs afterwards, that is just their policy. Good Luck to you!

I think the length of time depends on the insurance company and the person who gets your case. It took me 14 weeks to get approval and the only requirement was that I be 100lb over weight. I have United Health Care
