Question:
Need info for possable appeal

My insurance has an exclusion for medical or surgical treatment of obesity or morbid obesity. My BMI is 49.7 so I am close to super morbid obesity. I am going to have my doctor request surgery for my co-morbid conditions and super morbid obesity. I am sure they will deny so I need web sites explaining the difference. I am hoping that I can win an appeal because Super Morbid Obesity is not in the exclusion. Thanks for any help,    — richter454 (posted on August 23, 2001)
