Question:
I know this may sound stupid but I need to know what to say when I call???

I am wanting to know just what exactly what to say when I call my ins. commissioner. My policy w/ my ins. is medical neccessity and I was denied. The surgeon's office said they felt that they proven it was medical neccessity. Please if anyone has contacted your ins. commissioner let me know what you told them? This will be a great help to me! Nicole, I didn't have to do that, but if you end up not getting the help you need/want, let me know and I will help you figure out what to say! :~) My first profile is under Sharon Brittain and my letter to my insurance is in it, if you want to read it to see how I write... I'll help all I can! Good Luck!

I have not had this happen to me but I would suggest telling your story. Include all your medical facts then rip them hard on the emotional ones. Then tell them how much the surgery will help you. I would just plead your case with enthusiasm and determination. Good luck and hope this helps.

I have found that all sorts of people answer those phones. Be direct, AND emotional. If you can enlist that ONE person's support, HE/SHE will coach you on what your profile is missing and go to bat for you. If you aren't getting anywhere, try back at a different time of day. Always write down the name of who you are talking to, in case you find a really good or really bad one.
