Question:
The company I work for has added

another medical insurance to choose from. Has anyone ever dealt with United HealthCare Select Plus ? They say their only `exclusions` are procedures that are experimental and not `proven`. That statement didn`t make me feel very confident in them as far as getting an approval for WLS. I`m from Indiana and I have never heard of this company before. Is it well known in other states ? Hey Kay, We're practically neighbors. I live in LaPorte, IN. Regarding your insurance choice, I would call your surgeon's office and find out if they have had any success getting approval from United HealthCare for their other patients. And, I wouldn't switch unless you have exhausted all hope with your current insurance policy. Good Luck! Lynn

I have United Health Care Choice Plus in Missouri and really had very little problems getting the procedure approved. They initially rejected my surgeons request but after I sent a letter of inquiry in asking why they reviewed the initial request and personally called me with the approval and apology for rejecting it initially. I have been very pleased with them. J. Carnett
