Question:
Has anyone had surgery through BTC as an out of network provider.

I really would like to have my surgery at the BTC in Columbus, OH. Both the doctor and the hospital are out of network and my out of pocket expense will be around $5,000. Has anyone had this, and is the BTC good about working out a payment plan or do you have t have the money up front?    — Lynda D. (posted on September 22, 2002)

Yes, I'm having surgery at the BTC in Wylie, TX. The hospital and doc are out of network but BTC is really good about working with you. They gave me a choice of 12-24 month payment plan and they told me if I needed more then they would be happy to work with me. They said that it is all interest free, so it's just a flat payment on the principal. Not too bad. When you go to get your PAT's done, they will talk to you about this and you aren't expected to pay anything up front. They really are good! Good luck to you and take care!

I'm having my surgery at 8am in the morning at BTC in Langhorne, PA. I have Cigna PPO and it of course is out of network. BTC is fantastic about a payment plan. They will work with you completely. I think BTC is a fantastic choice for anyone considering this surgery. Good luck to you and God bless!

I had surgery 6/13 at BTC in Belvidere, IL and was out of network. So, our out of pocket costs are supposed to be 30% and BTC was very understanding about doing a payment plan. Good luck and you will be so happy with BTC. I am thrilled.

What you need to find out is what is your out of pocket limit on your insurance. Not what the balance will be on the bill. For instance the out of pocket limits on my insurance is $1000 so that is what I will have to pay and they haven't even asked for arrangements yet. I just had surgery on 9/20/02
