Question:
I heard BTC will no longer make payment arrangements with you.

I was reading someones profile on here and she stated that BTC will no longer let you make payments for your portion of the bill. Does anyone know if this is true? I am really worried. I have been working with BTC, Wylie Texas since Feb. 2002. I am finally in the final stages of all the pre-op work. Now I am hearing they have a new policy about making payment arrangements. I put a phone call in to my rep. But it is Friday so I know I will not hear back from her until Monday. I appriciate any info anyone can give me. Thanks!    — Maria S (posted on April 25, 2003)

I just had surgery at BTC in Wylie. When I spoke with Jessica prior to surgery she told me at about 90 days I would receive a bill for my portion and I would need to call and make payment arangements, usually over 24 months. They still do make arangements for payment so dont worry about it. And, CONGRATS on having your surgery date getting close very exciting... Good Luck on everything.

BTC will still make payment arrangements, providing that you can pay it off in 18 months. Which will depend on your insurance, since BTC is considered out of net work for most insurances, if your policy has no cap for out of network procedures you might run into some trouble, but if it has a cap on your out of pocket amount you may be ok depending on what that cap is, and this is not common knowledge to the BTC reps, but it is common knowledge to their billing people, so that is who I suggest that you talk to, but believe me when I say if there is a problem about money they will call you and tell you that they aren't getting enough, and they don't think that you can make the payments in that amount of time, and if you can't pay up front, well then good luck to you, your canceled...Been there, Done that, and turned down the T-shirt....Good Luck and Best Wishes, and CONGRADULATIONS....

Hi, I'm going to insert my journal entry in regards to BTC in Wylie. Notice that this was back in January but I spoke to 3 different departments at the corporate level and got different answers. Eventually I spoke to someone who was knowledgable about "what was in the process" of happening but hadn't happened yet. I eventually decided to go elsewhere but maybe some of this will help you. Good Luck!! 1-16-02----Ok, I have a set back now. Originally I decided to go to BTC because they didn't require a large fee up front for me to come up with. Now I find out that they just changed it. They don't know how much it would be for me because I don't have a maximum out-of-pocket amount on my insurance plan since it is out-of-network. I know for sure I would have to pay my deductible, which isn't so bad, but I would hate to go in the day of surgery and the hospital wants me to give them $1000!!! Can't I get a straight answer? I am going to look around and see if there is somewhere else that I can go, but I think financially this is going to be the best deal. ------------------------------------------------------------ 1-17-03---- I spoke with someone in Patient Accounts today and found out that the BTC in TX hasn't changed their payment policy yet. If I get approval (or denial) before that change happens then I will not have to change my plan. I'm just going to let it go and see what happens.
