Question:
will Medicaid cover WLS -- has anyone found out yet
How can I get an answer from the Medicaid people about whether or not they will cover WLS with knowing if Medicare will cover, and if I don't know that kind of a procedure they might need to do? — Julia L. (posted on April 8, 2001)

check in your state, as far as i know in new jersey they cover it . and as
far as i know they don't need approval letters . they cover it

I am scheduled for surgery june 13th and medicaid
is paying for it .
I live in wisconsin
I have to say that when my surgeon sent in the
request I also had my therapist send a letter
and my general practioner.
I got approved the first time

I don't know about Kansas because I live in Ohio and I think it is easier
in some states as aposed to others but I am currently waiting on an
approval through Ohio medicaid I will let you know if it comes through. I
had my dotor send a letter to medicaid and I had friends and family write
to them also. I also went last week to see if my sleep study doctor would
write a letter and my obgyn I am not sure if I need all of this but the way
I figure it can't hurt. isn't it funny how this "government"
program is for the people yet they are so secretive about it. I want to
know what they are hiding.
