Question:
Any trouble getting LIFE INSURANCE after surgery?

I am wanting to buy some life insurance, but cannot because of my weight. Has anyone been able to buy life insurance after surgery? If so, were you charged extra premium?    — Robby E. (posted on January 24, 2002)

I tried a couple of months ago. I was told if I wanted the policy I had to pay double the price that they quoted me before they knew about the surgery.

I looked into it pre op and was always denied because of my weight. Post op I was told that I had to wait 6 months to reapply because of the surgery. Thankfully, with my husband being in the military, they just started covering spouses, so I now have that as my life insurance. Good luck to you.
