Question:
Does anyone have BCBS of Minnesota?

I work for the State of Minnesotaand have BC/BS of Minnesota. After my
appointment with my bariatic team, they sent in for approval, I got the
approval letter within 7 days!!

Go to the top of any page and click on "insurers" and then click
on your state. You will then get an alphabetical listing of insurance
companies that members have been successful or unsuccessful with. Also
included are the links to the members' profiles and e-mail addresses. Maybe
you could e-mail them your specific questions. BTW--there are several

I have BCBS of Minn. and it was geat to deal with. I was approved in about
2 weeks. Of course, every company has their own insurance policy. But I
only had to pay my out of pocket and so far everything else has been payed
for (surg. 11/21/03). In fact, the girl in the doctor's office told me
she wished they were all that easy to deal with! So I have been happy with
it! GOOD LUCK !!!

I have BC/BS of Minnesota. I had a relativley low bmi of 41 and no
comorbidities. I was approved quickly after my initial request. I had
surgery 8/25/03 with no complications and have lost 82 lbs to date. 18
until goal! Good luck!

I have BC/BS of MN PPO plan. The insurance company got my paperwork on a
Friday and I was approved the following Tuesday (2 days). I had a BMI of
42 with some co-morbids. I was very please with the insurance company.

I have BC/BS of MN. I went to my consultation on July 2nd 2003 and 2 weeks
later I was approved. They are a wonderful insurance company. If you have
all your documentation together you should't have a problem. Check out my
memo on the bottom of my profile, it will tell you what all I had to do to
