Question:
Does anyone know how I would go about following up with No. CA Kaiser?

Melissa, You should call Kaiser and ask for the Bariatric social worker... I am in Oregon, but I understand that Kaiser here works the same as in N. Cal... I had already joined a Kaiser weight loss class before I even knew that A social worker even existed, and only then I found out by accident when someone else in my class mentioned her name. Keep Calling until someone figures out where to direct your call, and then make your social worker your best friend!

Look on the back of your ID card. You should have a customer service number there. I would start with that number and if they can't help you ask them for the number of who can.

Call the Kaiser in South San Francisco (this is where they do the bariatric surgeries for No. Cal Kaiser). Ask for the BARIATRIC SURGERY dept. When I had my surgery, almost a year ago, a woman named Marina was who I talked to over there. Once your file gets sent to the Committee, it can take between 3 weeks to 3 months to get an answer from them. I don't think that has changed to date. I called once every 2 weeks until I was told I was approved.

Hi, I would call So.San Francisco Kaiser and ask for the Bariatric Surgery Dept. Make sure you get the actual number don't just get transfered.
