Question:
Need assistance finding CIGNA network DR.

I live in Levittown, PA. and cannot locate a CIGNA-OPEN ACCESS Doctor in my area. I have called CIGNA and they can only give me Gastroenterologists, but cannot tell me which if any perform bypass surgery. I've checked around and it seems that no one does this surgery in my area. I figure I am not the only one who has CIGNA and has had or wants to have this surgery in my area. Please help....    — Pamela S. (posted on January 21, 2004)

I would go to your state board and see which drs take it...or got to mycigna.com and sign up...CIGNA sucks though..and then come to the yahoo cignassqueakywheels lost of info there for ya..

I would ask your primary doc to refer you for the surgery..I have Cigna and they have been great!..my surgery is Jan 27 and I have had NO problems with them at all...

Look on this site for the surgeons that are in your area. Then call cigna and see if they are in network. Most surgeons are listed as general surgeons in you insurance paperwork. Sometimes you will have to travel. The surgeon I used was 4 hours away and still in network. Just do some checking.
