I can tell you how much my costs were if it helps. My surgeons fees totaled $8500. That is for a lap rny. It includes all follow up visits. My psych eval was $100.00. My hospital bill including all pre-op tests and a 6 day inpatient stay was $45,000. That was with no complications and no time in the ICU. My surgeon likes his patients from out of state to stay in the hospital that long. He made daily rounds at no extra charge. If your hospital stay is shorter you will pay much less than I did. The internist who also saw me daily while in the hospital charged $125.oo per day. In addition I pay $25.oo per visit to see the dietician. Hope this helps

I received a "package" deal from my surgeon. He has a weight management program out of St. Luke's hospital. The deal included: Pre-op seminar, post-op weight management diet and exercise program, surgeon's fee, his assistent's fee, anesthesiologist's fee, pre-op testing, psychologist's evaluation, 3 day stay in hospital, all surgery-related and hospital charges, one year post-op nutritionist's support, and all necessary post-op follow-up visits with the surgeon. As a self pay I paid just under $18,000.

I paid a total of $12,450, not including the after surgery meds, they cost about $150. I used Simonowitz at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, WA, which is a mile from Seattle. If you want more info, let me know.

I went to Brazil for a DS. The surgeon is board certified here in the states as well as Brazil. Check out DuodenalSwitch.com His name is Dr. Marchesini. His fee is $3500, and the hosptial fee is $4500. You have a private room, and wonderful care. I know you may think I am nuts but at this price who can afford to stay in the states? There have been quite a few Americans who have traveled down there. They treat you like one of thier family. The Dr. came to see me 3 times a day, and when I was out of the hospital, either he came to the hotel, or I went to his office which was just next door to the hotel. Our airfare was $1500 for my husband and me. The hotel, for 13 days was just a little over $500, with room service if we wanted! It was truly a great experience! Get in touch with me if you like. I would be more than happy to answer any questions.
