Question:
Has anyone used Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield of CT(Blue Care Plus)

I need to know if qnyone has had trouble getting approved for surgery through Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I also think that my PCP is going to give me a hard time about my resolve to go forward with this. Can anyone recommend a good PCP in CT; also a surgeon who will do the lap GBP?    — [Anonymous] (posted on August 13, 2000)

Hi,I have anthem BC/BS of CT and I got approved in exactly 1 week. I had absolutely no problems with them. I also didn't need permission from my PCP, which I'm greatful for since I knew he would be against it. As far as getting the LAP GPB in CT I believe there are only two doctors who perform Gastric Bypass, Dr. Reinhold in New Haven and Dr. Barba in Hartford, which was my Doctor. As far as I know Dr. Barba has not started doing the LAP.
