Question:
I have an incisional hernia & wonder how to get panniculectomy approved.

I had RNY 5/23/00 and now have an incisional hernia that needs repaired. I understand that some insurance companies will approve panniculectomy if you're having a hernia repaired. I too have an incisional hernia that needs repair but my surgeon said that he doesn't want to do anything until after i lose 100 pounds. I assume so that the insurance company can prove the panniculectomy at the same time. I have lost about 95lbs but probably won't have the panniculectomy until next year. i figure as long as the hernia doesn't bother me I won't bother it.
