Question:
okay...i am 410lbs...my visit with dr wongsa is on oct1, i have been on every diet
in the worl, but only one this year where it was medically supervised and that was only for a month.my question is do i need to have more proof..should i start going to see another weight loss doctor? ALso if I see another dr prior to my insurance kicking in on sept 29 will the insurance company consider this pre exsisting?? I am not sure where to go.. — [Anonymous] (posted on July 17, 2001)

If you go to see another Dr right now insurance will probably see this as a
pre existing condition. Most insurance considers anything treated in the
last 12 mo pre-existing. Check w/ you policy before you do anything. Call
the ins co and ask what qualifies as pre-existing. I had only had one
medically supervised diet and it was about 2 years ago and I was approved
thru BCBS (hard) I also am about 415 lbs.

Ok, if yoou are 410#s then most likely you have been overweight for most of
your life. During your life you have probably talked to many physicians or
they have spoke to you about your weight problem. Perhaps you may have
even spoke to them about a diet plan. Can you remember any doctor that
this may have happened. This will work, it did for me and I have Aetna
also! I just used one of my chilhood doctors along with a recent one. Good

Hi, I was the key word here is "was" 410 pounds last week. I had
my surgery with Dr. Wongsa. All you need to do is keep your appointment
with him, You are more than qualified to have the surgery and more than
likely his office will take care of all you need to do. Best wishes and
Kiss the Doctor for me. I am one week post op and down 15 pounds already!!!
