Hi, I had my surgery now a friend wants LAP

I had an open RNY, she does not want to have open. She has the same insuraunce as I do so she needs an HCA affiliated hospital. She is looking in the Charleston, Florence area. Anyone know of a doc that does LAP bypass surgery in an HCA hospital??? Please let me know,. Thanks!!    — Gina D. (posted on August 9, 2002)

Gina, I don't know what a HCA affiliated hospital is, but I am having surgery by Dr. Donald Balder in Florence. He specializes in Lap RNY. He performs surgery at McLeod Regional and Carolina's Hospital System. Call me if you need more info....

Dr. Byrne at MUSC in Charleston does the LAP. I have a friend down there that will be seeing him.
