Question:
Can anyone tell me how to go about sending your information to Medicaid for approval?

I have found 2 Dr's that will take me as a patient but first I have to have approval from Medicaid. I need a push in the right direction.    — Laura M. (posted on October 5, 2002)

First of all you need to contact your social worker and explain that you need this surgery and he/she can get yor paperwork started. I have heard that it is difficult to get medicade to pay for this surgery (here in Oklahoma anyway) and with all the upcoming changes in medicade that are taking place Nov. 1 st, you may want to try to get things going ASAP just in case they affect your coverage. The income level is going down drastically causing several thousand people to lose their coverage, so you may want to look into that also.
