Question:
Anyone in New York with United Health Care.

Has anyone been approved or waiting to be approved in New York with United Health Care? If So how long did it take and what did they require ?? thanks    — Barbara F. (posted on July 11, 2003)

I have UHC and all I needed done was to nutrition evaluation, psych evaluation and I had a letter from my PCP with my attempts of weight loss. I had my consult with Dr Leitman (we share the same surgeon,he is WONDERFUL!) on November 22, and got my approval call from his office on December 4th. I also have united Healthcare, or should I say my husband's insurance was switched to United Healthcare 1 month before my surgery date...I was rerquired to have all the things the previous poster had to have and I was preapproved over the phone....my husband called them because I freaked out that the insurance changed, but it only changed becuse his pay source changed...so they were very good about it...I have no complaints:-) 8-15-02 -128
