I WAS DENIED...GROUP EXCLUSION...ANY DIRECTION SOMEONE CAN LEAD ME IN...

IWAS DENIED BEACAUSE WE ONLY HAVE THREE PEOPLE IN OUR OFFICE ON THE PLAN...AND BEACAUSE WE DON'T HAVE 50 OR MORE EMPLOYEES I CAN'T HAVE THE SURGERY...THEY WON'T EVEN PAY FOT IT IF IT'S MEDICALLY NECESSARY...WHICK IN MY CASE IT IS...HELP    — Gina T. (posted on September 4, 2003)

Sorry to say so, but I don't see a way for your insurance to pay in this situation - and if they did, the premium would probably double for each person in the group. Its like buying auto insurance - you decide ahead of time what deductible, what limits, PIP or collision only - and as a very small group the premiums are probably not cheap as it is. ~~~~ The only ideas I have are to consider self pay - either US or Mexico - and maybe get a home equity loan to pay for it, that way the interest is tax deductible. If you have a car that is paid off, you can get a loan on it. ~~~~ What about a spouse? Do they have the opportunity to cover you under their group plan? Most plans have open enrollment in December, so you could find out if it is covered, and get on the plan in time for next year??
