Does anyone know anything about

I just got my pre-determination letter today stating that the procedure codes "49568" and "97150" are not covered. That procedure code "47600" will be covered once per lifetime. Does anyone know what these codes are??    — Kellie M. (posted on July 19, 2004)

CPT 97150 is showing to be "group therapy" CPT 49568 is a hernia repair with mesh. Hope this helps you. Take Care and Best Wishes

Kellie, Hi again ~ it looks to me like the insurance company is telling you they will cover the DS procedure. Which is wonderful. Thats what I have.. You will still be able to eat and still loose weight. Without the dumping etc.. check out the DS Forum on OH.. The members on this board are awesome with answering questions.

The particular codes that you supplied stand for: 49568 - hernia repair with mesh; 47600 removal of gallbladder (stands to reason that they would only pay for THAT once! haha) and 97150 - group therapeutic procedures. I'm not real sure what all of these have to do with gastric bypass, but my gallbladder was removed at the same time as my bypass. I have heard of hernia repair at the same time.
