Question:
Is there anyway to get insurance to cover surgery if there is an exclusion?

I have an appt with Dr. Hall (anyone heard of him)in Lubbock Texas On Sept2. I have American Medical Security insurance (PPO) and they have a exclusion for morbid obesity stapling, bypass ect. My BMI is 51%. Is there anyway around it??? thanks, Barbara    — barbara M. (posted on August 9, 1999)

barbara, i have the same ins. (amco ppo) i have the same exclusions on mine. if i get any info on this, i'll let you know. i need a revision but i haven't heard anything yet. i haven't found any thing in my policy about a revision. do you know of any? i'll keep a eye out for any info that might help. thanks, vicky
