Question:
Has anyone had any experience with PHCS/GE Group Admin/Phoenix Group Services?

My insurance is PHCS/GE Group Administrators (Formerly known as Phoenix Group Services). I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them on WLS and if so how were they ruled?    — Renee V. (posted on April 6, 2001)

My consultation appointment was scheduled for April 15, 2002. I was told when I called to schedule the appointment that typically PHCS approved the surgery fairly quickly. I am finding that is not the case. The letter was sent to the insurance carrier via certified mail, and it was signed for on May 10th. Since then, I have called many times for a pre-determination. When I finally did talk to a person, he told me that my information wasn't in their system, and that they had never received such a letter requesting approval. I spoke to my insurance coordinator at the doctors office, and she has been extremely patient, and helpful by giving me telephone numbers of people she has contacted..maybe this will help facilitate the process????? If anyone has any helpful suggestions, please let me know... Doris, I hope this answers your question...
