Question:
Anyone have United Healthcare and been approved for Duodenal Switch?

I have United Healthcare and I am trying to get approved for the Duodenal Switch. Do you know if they have approved the procedure in the past? It gets more complicated. My insurance will only cover morbid obesity if I stay in network and no DS surgerons are in network. I have talked to my Ins. and they are submitting an authorization for me to go out of network because they don't provide a surgeon that does the surgery that I want done. Just Something to think about....I was approved with United Healthcare in 48 hrs..(maybe even less) but I had the RouxNY (lap). I have to admit I haunted them until they approved me...(lol) All is done Im 6 wks out and 40 lbs down....It will work out for you too! Good Luck!

Yes! Many, many people have been approved through UHC for the Duodenal Switch. Click on Insurers above for more info. I was approved over the phone with no comorbids. They paid 100% and paid 100% for my plastic surgery. A dream to work with!... http://www.mywls.com Good luck to you!
