Question:
Has anyone has success with approval for wls with Blue Shield Of Ca.?

My medical group (IPA) is Mercy Physicians Medical Group. They have until 7-23-02 to respond to my appeal, and I am going CRAZY. Any help, prayers, thoughts?    — Lesa H. (posted on July 12, 2002)

I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Ca. PPO, I don't know if this is who your asking about, but, I never even spoke to my ins. My Dr. office submitted the paperwork and I was approved in 3-4 days. I'm a lightweight, with no co-morbid. problems. Just hang tough, your going to do just fine, I know how difficult the wait can be but if you keep positive thoughts your approval will come threw for you! GOOD LUCK!!

I have BlueCross California Care HMO, I was also considered a lightweight, and was approved in 4 days. It might help if you start calling the insurance company. I started calling the day my letter was sent from the Drs. office. Good Luck.
