Question:
Request more info.

I called my insurance company today to see if they have made a decision on having a gastric bypass. They have had the information since the first week in May, now they tell me that yesterday they sent a request to the doctor for more information. Is that a good or bad sign? Anyone the same situation please let me know how it turned out. Thanks.    — Mini Gadget (posted on May 30, 2003)

Hi, Insurance companys are "JERKS". They will do everything in their power not to approve you. When I was trying to get approved for my abdominoplasy (which I did get approved yesterday, yeahhhh) they never would tell me anything. Girl, I called EVERYDAY!!! These customer service representatives knew me on a first name basis. SO WHAT!! I didn't care who I bothered. When they told me that they will or have mailed me or my doctor a letter, I always told them to fax me a copy. Girl, you pay your money and it's your body...... call and bug whomever you want and get some answers. Submit everything you have and keep on top of this. Everything will turn out OK. And don't take "NO" for an answer. Remember, you always have your state's Insurance Commission to help you. Just look in the phone book! Good Luck and God Bless!!!
