Question:
Does Masshealth Insurance require this?

Anyone know if Masshealth Insurance requires a 6 month medically supervised diet before weight loss surgery will be approved? I keep hearing different comments about it.    — Annie N. (posted on July 11, 2003)

Hi Annie, I also have Masshealth, I had my consult appt. last week and nothing was said about a supervised diet, I have heard you need to do that with Cigna but not masshealth. The nurse said they (Masshealth) want a list of diets you have tried in the past 2 years. including the dates, starting weight and ending weight. I have Dr. Bodner at Morton Hospital.
