How Do I apply to insurance company

I am under my mothers insurance - Blue Cross Blue Sheild and I was wondering how do I apply to my insurance company for the surgery?    — Stacey J. (posted on November 3, 2004)

Stacey: You must first find a dr. to do your surgery and they will ck with your insurance for you. If you have your benefits book it should tell you if they cover WLS. Good luck...Judy ([email protected]) Please email me if you have questions.

First you must go to your doctor. You need to have a history of trying to lose weight with the help of your doctor. You must have a body fat count of over 40+ and have OB conditions that would help if you had the surgery. You my be required to write a letter with a history of the diets you have tried. Take some time to review this site. There is a section on pre-surgery requirements and what others have done. Research is very important. Take the time to do it. You may find out this is not for you.
