Question:
Has anyone had any trouble with getting approved by Anthem HMO?

I was wondering if you have gotten anywhere with your approvel with anthem, i have the same insurance and have not started the process yet. (actually i have BC-BS, matthew thornton blue of NH, but they have been bought out or merged with anthem somehow, so my carrier is now anthem)

I have Anthem HMO and started this process a year and a half ago. I was denied twice because they said I needed 12-18 months of non-surgical treatment, which was provided to them. Well anyway after the second denial letter I was devastated and gave up that was eight months ago. Now I am starting all over. I wish that I would have hired an attorney and fought it. And I will if they deny me this time because I have diabetes, high blood pressure, and osteo arthritis. Don't give up and have proof of weight loss attempts if possible. I'll keep ya posted. My new consultation is June 3, 2002.
