how do i get medicare to cover the roeun-y surgery?

I am 5'5" and weigh 310. Isuffre from bad knees, bad back, depression. I am covered by medicare for a disability. I have been unsuccessful in getting medicare to agree to pay for the surgery. How does one get medicare to pay?    — Elizabeth J. (posted on January 8, 2001)

Hi! Talk to your surgeon. Medicare doesn't need a pre-authorization. With your weight, BMI, you should be qualified. I had no problems what-so-ever. I even had a tummy tuck and hernia repair that Medicare covered. I've just about lost my way out of SSD!!!! I'll be job hunting next month!!! My health improved sooooo much because of this surgery.
