Dr. Martin will definitely let you pay upfront, in fact you have to. I was a self-pay until two days before my surgery. He only works out of St.Charles General for Lap RNY. It is a Tenet hospital. They have a package deal for his surgery...$25,000. $10,000 deposit and the rest within 4 months (although I think they are trying to make that less severe). His fees, his assistant and the anesthesiologist are all separate and come to about $8,000-$10,000 more. He is a great doctor though; I am 5 weeks post op from his handy work. Good Luck!

Don't give up based upon an exclusion. I had one too but got the surgery covered because if you are morbidly obese (not just obese) this surgery is medically necessary and should be covered. If not, it's discrimination. Please read my profile.
