Question:
Is secondary insurance adequate to conver while I wait for new primary insurance?

I took BCBS HMOIllinois as my primary when I started my current job 3 years ago. My husband has BCBS PPO on the family, but it has a very high deductible. It is my secondary insurance. I will start a new job in October. My new primary insurance, BCBS PPO (much better plan than hubby's) will kick in after 30 days. Should I just depend on the secondary insruance to carry me in between primaries, or should I utilize COBRA so there will be no lap. I am stumped, but don't want to get set back because of all this. (3 insurance companies! ugh!)    — Patricia R. (posted on August 19, 2001)
