Question:
Has anyone in the state of Georgia had RNY and Medicaid pay for it?

Has anyone in the state of Ga. had RNY surgery and medicaid pay for it. I am trying to have the surgery and have been told by many people that medicaid wont pay for the RNY. I am very worried about this and would like to know if medicaid will pay for it and what doctor in Georgia will accept Medicaid. Thank you for any help you can give me..    — Candice L. I know someone here in GA who not only had the RNY, but the Fobi pouch as well, all paid by Medicaid. He's lost 200 # since January. Keep trying! It can be done!

Candice, I am currently waiting on medicaid to pay for my surgery, it has to be medically needed, and if they do pay for it, the surgery will be only OPEN. The only surgeon I found that would accept medicaid is Dr. Redmond in Douglasville, Ga. Give him a call and see what you can come up with. Not many Surgeons are accepting medicaid for 2003. Just keep trying and fight it if they deny you. Good luck!
