Question:
Any good arguments against haveing to do a 24 week supervised diet?

I have been denied twice by my insurance. BCBS-PPO states that I need at least two 24 week supervised and documented diets in the last 12 months. I need some good arguments against this for my apeal.    — Marn (posted on December 10, 2003)

Good luck. My insurance went from two 12 week supervised diets to three 12 weeks supervised diets. I had 1 twelve week course with weight watchers and another 5 week course, but they would not accept them because there was a 1 month laps between the two. They had to be consecutive. Now my ins. will no longer cover wls. My husbands employer will not renew the policy due to the increase in premiums with the wls as a add on. It seems many individuals over the last two years in corporate offices have had wls. Great for them, but it leaves me out in the cold. Good luck getting you ins. to over ride the diet requirement.
