Loretta, you could try giving med-cal a call and see if they can give you a list of providers, you could also try contacting the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons (I think that is what it is called) and see if they could help giving you a referral. I wish you luck in your journey, do not give up, it can happen. Lisa lap/rny 10-23-03 340/181/??? -159lbs

You might try Mary Estakhri M.D., she is in Pleasanton, an outstanding surgeon. Her number is 925-460-9000. The website for her bariatric practice is www.4-anewyou.com and there might be insurance info. there, I can't remember. I had a Medicare HMO at the time of my Gastric Bypass but 18 months later I had to have surgery for a bowel obstruction and only had Medi-Cal/Medicare. Dr. Estakhri did both of my surgeries. Feel free to write me at [email protected] if you would like more info. Good luck and many blessings to you on this amazing journey!
