Carrie, I also have BCBS FED PPO and had NO problems in getting an approval. Make sure your doctor puts down all the weight loss attempts you have tried in your letter. Good luck and God speed.

Ray I have BCBS Federal and they approved me in less than a week. Their letter stated that they would pay at the 90% rate. But after the negotiaited fees they paid everything except $200.00 for my private room. My hospital bill was $24995.00 and my Surgeons bill was around 8900. I was please that they paid so well. was not required by my WLS to give a deposit like some say their doctor required. My doctor was very please with his fee he felt they paid better than most. Of course he had an agreed to amount for his negotiated fee. The WLS office submitted the paperwork I had several health problems (Sleep Apena, Elevated Liver emzymes, knee problems 100 pounds of wieght, BMI 46.5) I was shock how fast everything went. Good Luck

I have Bc/Bs Federal PPO and I was approved in a week. Just make sure you submit all necessary paperwork. If you call, they will tell you what info is required (co-morbidities, weight loss attempts/diet history, weight, ht, BMi, etc). Good luck.
