Question:
Exclusions

I received my copy of the policy book for my insurance and under exclusions it says : ************************************************ Health services and associated expenses for procedures intended primarily for the treatment of morbid obesity, including gastric bypasses, gastric balloons, stomach stapling, jejunal bypasses, wiring of the jaw and health services and associated expenses for weight loss programs, nutritional supplements and supplies of a similar nature. *********************************************** What do y'all think? Any way around this? HELP!!!    — Angela B. (posted on September 16, 2000)

I don't know the answer but I would like to hear it. I have the same insurance policy. :0)

My policy pretty much read the exact same way, and comorbids or not, medically "necessary" or not, they WILL NOT COVER IT. I've appealed, and lost, twice. My comorbids are pretty severe, too, and that just did not matter in the least to them.
